Reports

A report is a longer write-up built from the study reports of one or more studies. You edit it like a document, send it for review, and publish it to your team.

Create a report

From Reports:

  1. Click New report.
  2. Give it a title, or leave it empty and we'll suggest one.
  3. Tick the studies to include. Only studies with results are listed; a study without a study report yet is noted as such.
  4. Pick a template:
    • Summary
    • Jobs to be done
    • Churn drivers
    • Opposing views
    • Opportunity areas
    • Usability findings
  5. Click Create draft. The draft is laid out from the study reports' themes and claims, with their clips.

From a study, the Report tab does the same for that one study: pick a template and click Write the … report. Switch between Report and Deck to see it as slides (up to 15). Use Regenerate to start again, or Open in Reports to keep editing there.

Edit

The editor has the usual tools (headings, bold, italic, lists, quotes, links, alignment, highlight) plus:

  • Insert clip: drop a clip into the text so readers can play the moment.
  • Comment on selection: start a comment thread on a passage.

Changes save automatically (All changes saved). If someone else saves the same report while you're editing, you'll be told.

Versions: the last 20 versions are kept. Restore any of them, or Restore the original draft.

Review and publish

Reports go from draft to review to published.

  1. Add one or more reviewers and click Send for review.
  2. Reviewers approve or request changes, and can comment, reply and resolve threads.
  3. Click Publish to team.

To take a report back, choose Unpublish from the report's menu. Only the person who created a report, or an admin, can delete it.

Share and export

  • Share: a published report can have a view-only link. See Share links.
  • Export: PowerPoint, Word, PDF or Markdown. See Exports.

You can also turn an Eva chat into a report: choose Save as report from the chat's menu.
